Middle School Mock Trial provides students with the opportunity to learn about the American legal system by preparing and enacting a court case. The team selects a case provided by the NJ State Bar Foundation and assumes the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and jurors. Given only the facts of the case, witness statements, and the applicable laws, students develop their cases from the ground up. Under the guidance of their coaches, they develop their own strategies and lines of questions. Their year culminates when the team tries their case for the public in a real courtroom. Mock Trial is open to students in grades 6, 7, & 8 with sign-ups in September.
